YMCA Vic Early Learning Centres (ELC's) are safe, supportive spaces offering high quality early learning education and care for children aged six weeks to five years old.
About the role
You will experience specialist support from a diverse and caring team, as you drive community and family engagement, with children at the heart of your service philosophy.
The role of Room Leader role will involve:
- Leading, managing, and motivating appointed room staff to achieve the objectives of the Centre and support staff in their development
- Assisting with the mentoring of permanent and casual employees
- Following an approved curriculum, where you will be a role modelling for children in developing lifelong skills and instilling in them a passion for learning
- Making lessons captivating and enjoyable for individuals and small groups of children
- Delivering consistent high-quality practice of the National Quality Framework
- Ensuring that records are maintained accurately for each child in care
This is a full time opportunity at Cranbourne North ELC.
The hourly rate is $35.15.

Qualifications required
- Diploma or equivalent qualifications in Early Childhood / Children's Services or equivalent
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Anaphylaxis and Asthma certification
- Working with Children Card
About the Centre
Cranbourne North YMCA Early Learning Centre has 6 programs with the capacity to care and educate 104 children a day. We operate from 6.30am-6.30pm Monday- Friday. Working in alignment with YMCA Vitoria's philosophy, our service prides itself on fostering and enhancing children's learning through play, while also providing our community with high quality care and education.
We are a purpose built facility where the team work together to enhance children curiosity for learning and engage their interests in exploring the world around them. Not only do we focus on a sense of belonging for children, but we do this for our education team also.
Our management are very involved and connected with all programs, providing mentoring and support for educators as we believed this helps to support our high quality programs.
We believe that all of our team are on a learning journey themselves and we support this with regular staff meeting, Professional Development opportunities, and opportunities for educators to connect and learn together. We have set shifts at Cranbourne North YMCA to support the consistency for children and families.
