About the role
The Finance Business Manager is the lead finance business manager for specific business areas across West Moreton Health (WMH). The role can be rotated across different areas of the business periodically. This role provides financial leadership, expert advice and business analysis in matters relating to all financial, service costing, system development and funding models. The role also provides high level strategic financial management and commercial support by negotiating, managing and maintaining the budgetary, activity and financial plan for these services to maximise the ability to deliver services within the funding envelope approved by Queensland Health.
This role is accountable for managing and leading a finance team to ensure that appropriate accounting practices and procedures are operating to enable these services to support the direction of the organisation.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Experience as a management accountant with extensive expertise in annual budgeting, contemporary financial reporting, and forecasting and a thorough understanding of financing, cost and revenue structures, cost and revenue drivers, and the relationship between each.
- Demonstrated ability to lead the provision of strategic and operational financial services, adopting a business partnering approach, experience with management accounting concepts, practices, and strategies; and financial management legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, including communication, negotiation, and consultation skills within a multidisciplinary workplace, including the ability to understand and communicate complex financial concepts and information to clinical and non-clinical stakeholders, including senior management.
- Expertise in the use of information management technology and financial systems, together with experience in the research, review, interpretation and analysis of information and in formulating recommendations and reports to senior management within large complex organisations.
- Experienced leader committed to developing a high performing team through inspired leadership and manage staff in line with contemporary human resource management policies, procedures and practices.
