About the role
We are offering a permanent role of Family Law Clinical Supervisor in our Family Law Services Team in the Perth Metro area. The position is responsible for providing clinical supervision and professional support to the Child Contact Service (CCS) Supervisors, the CCS Coordinator and Family Dispute Resolution (FDR) Practitioners at multiple RAWA locations. The role ensures best practice in service delivery, compliance with relevant legislation, and the ongoing professional development of supervisees. The position requires strong expertise in family law, dispute resolution, and the unique complexities of separated families, including those involving family violence or high conflict.
Responsibilities of the role include:
Provide regular, structured clinical supervision (individual and group) to Child Contact Service Supervisors, CCS Coordinator and Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners, fostering reflective practice, ethical decision-making, and continuous professional development.
Support supervisees in managing complex cases, including those involving family violence, child protection concerns, or high-conflict situations.
Ensure all practice aligns with current Family Law Legislation, the Family Law (Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners) Regulations 2025, and organisational policies.
Oversee, mentor, and upskill supervisees in best practice standards, professional boundaries, and child-focused approaches.
Maintain an FDR clinical case load subject to capacity.
The current vacancy is 4 days per week per week.
Skills, experience, and qualifications
Accreditation with the Attorney General’s Department as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP) under the Family Law (Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners) Regulations 2025.
Demonstrated experience in family dispute resolution, including work with families experiencing separation, high conflict, and family violence.
Comprehensive knowledge of Family Law Legislation, particularly as it applies to FDR and Child Contact Services in Western Australia.
Experience providing clinical supervision, mentoring, or reflective practice support in a multidisciplinary or family law context.
Qualification in social work, psychology, law, or a related field is desirable.
High-level interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to support and develop supervisees’ practice.
Understanding of child protection, risk assessment, and trauma-informed practice in family law and child contact settings.
Commitment to ethical, culturally sensitive, and child-focused practice.
