About The Role:
DCC Industry Group is partnering with the Department of Youth Justice to launch the Durungal Program. The Durungal Program is an early intervention, evidence-based program to support young people at risk of entering the youth justice system. As the Program Facilitator, you will be responsible for delivering evidence-based, non-violent conflict resolution skills to groups of young people aged 10 to 17 years. The Program Facilitator will work collaboratively with youth justice services, schools, and community stakeholders to build the capacity of participants to manage conflict constructively, assisting with the reduction of violent or antisocial behaviours.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Facilitate group-based sessions with young people, modelling non-violent conflict resolution skills and strategies, using trauma-informed and strengths-based methods.
Support the development of pro-social behaviour, self-regulation, and communication skills in program participants.
Conduct individual assessments to determine program readiness and tailor delivery to meet individual and group needs.
Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and outcome data in line with confidentiality, risk, and reporting requirements.
Collaborate with families, youth workers, case managers, and community agencies to support holistic outcomes.
Participate in training, reflective practice, and supervision to ensure ongoing program fidelity and improvement.
Contribute to evaluation and reporting processes, including outcome measurement and client feedback.

Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Criminology, Social Work, Human Services, or a related discipline.
Demonstrated experience developing and implementing programs for young people, particularly those with complex behaviours or youth justice involvement.
Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice, adolescent development, and restorative approaches.
Excellent group facilitation and engagement skills with the ability to create psychologically safe spaces for at risk participants.
Experience working with culturally diverse communities, including First Nations young people.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including reporting and case note writing.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Current Queensland Working with Children Check (Blue Card), driver’s licence, and satisfactory criminal history check.
Desirable:
Training in conflict resolution, mediation, TCI, restorative justice, or CBT-based interventions.
Familiarity with Youth Justice Act 1992 (Qld) and youth diversion framework
