We are looking for a unicorn wine expert to assist with the wine purchasing for our unique bottleshop and bar across two locations plus someone who can assist with the daily operations of our bottleshop and bar and provide exception customer service.

The applicant must have extensive knowledge of wine, including local and international wine labels.

The role offered is casual (with potential for part time or full time work negotiable) and based in Red Hill but applicants must have the ability to travel to the other store location in Mornington where necessary.

Peninsula Beverage Co. is a boutique bottleshop and bar located in Mornington and Red Hill stocking unique products including a huge range of Mornington Peninsula-made items. Customers can take home their favourite local beverages or snacks or stay a while and enjoy the growing selection in the cosy setting of the bar.

Key elements of the role:

Assist with wine purchasing for Mornington + Red Hill Stores

-Suggestions for wine buying, ensuring our range continues to evolve and stay relevant to our customers

-Wine Allocation Advice – advising on quantity/acceptance of offers

-Maintaining Supplier relationships including regular communication and tastings

-Providing new product information and tasting descriptions (for price tags)

-Flagging options for discount range and regularly changing displays

-Curate monthly or bi-monthly packs of wine for online and instore sales

Assist with bottleshop sales

-Administer customer transactions accurately and efficiently

-Provide exceptional customer service and advice on sales

-Understand customer purchasing behaviour

Curate Instore Wine experiences

-Develop Quarterly Wine By the Glass list for both stores – advice on pricing/negotiating prices with suppliers

-Set up regular wine tastings program for the Red Hill store featuring local winemakers

-Opportunity to create an experience/ongoing offer relevant for local wine tour companies

Daily Bar Service

-Ensure bar is set up for service

-Ability to serve a range of food and drinks (including tap beer, wine by the glass, coffee and small cheese plates)

-Provide advice and an efficient casual experience for customers to enjoy a drink in store

-Regular appliance cleaning and maintenance

Maintain Daily Store Operations

-Ensure the bottleshop is ready for service (shelves are regularly stacked, price tags displayed)

-Neat and tidy store presentation, including regular cleaning of products, floors, bathrooms.

-Receive stock deliveries accurately

-Pack up stock for transfer between store locations

Please note: there is a requirement to lift and move wine boxes on a regular basis.
