An opportunity is now available for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our Melbourne team as a Paralegal on a casual basis. Candidates must be available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week.
Although Blackstone Legal Costing is a consultancy and not a law firm, the successful candidate will be exposed to various areas of law due to the nature of the work.
Position Overview
As a Paralegal at Blackstone Legal Costing, you will play a crucial role in supporting our teams and will be responsible for:
Preparing files for costing;
Reconciling disbursement lists with tax invoices;
Drafting letters, memorandum of advice, and certificates of assessments under supervision;
Liaising with clients, barristers' clerk and internal stakeholders;
Administrative management of files; and
Ad-hoc duties as required.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidates will have the following experience/qualities:
Students studying a Bachelor of Law in their first or second year are encouraged to apply.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organisation, prioritisation, and time management skills.
Self-motivated and be able to work as part of a team and autonomously.
Technology-savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
An understanding of the Australian legal system, including laws, regulations, legal terminology, and court procedures.
