About the Role
Full Time position (35 hours/week)
12-Month Position
Office based in Chatswood, with occasional travel to other offices required
The objective of the role of NRAS and Rent Subsidy Specialist is to ensure that all tenant rental subsidies are reviewed and accurately calculated according to applicable policies and timeframes, and that all changes in circumstances and new tenancies are accurately assessed and calculated on a case by-case basis. This position also ensures that all market rents are accurately calculated as per applicable benchmarks and timeframes. The position is also responsible for managing the rent assessment, the periodic rent review process, and monitoring the income review for the National Rental Affordability Scheme (NRAS) through the effective skill and knowledge of the rent review and rent assessment policy and processes.
Key areas of responsibility include:
Support Link Wentworth to meet its financial, assessment and compliance goals and targets through the timely and accurate assessment of future and current tenants
Support Link Wentworth to meet its financial goals and targets through the effective implementation and management of the rent review process
Support Link Wentworth to meet its compliance and funding obligations by ensuring the accurate and timely recording and filing of all rent review, rent assessment and tenant records into the relevant electronic and filing records management systems
Support the rent and income review team continuously improve its performance and effectiveness through the regular review of the rent review processes documents and systems to ensure best practice processes are in place.
Who we are looking for:
The ideal candidate will have:
Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or relevant experience to the position within the community housing or similar services industry
Demonstrated high level communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills and ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds and experiences
Computer literacy and demonstrated ability in the Microsoft Office suite of programs and database programs
Numerical aptitude
You will also have:
High level problem-solving and decision-making skills and ability to apply discretion in dealing with sensitive issues and environments
High level influencing, negotiation and conflict-resolution skills
Excellent written skills including ability to write routine and complex documents, reports, briefing notes and legal pro-forma documents in a comprehensive and professional manner
Ability to understand, interpret, and apply standards, legislation, policy and guidelines in the provision of services to clients
You will also need:
Willingness to comply with vaccination requirements imposed by Link Wentworth, including COVID-19 and other vaccinations, as determined by the organisation in accordance with current Government health advice, mandates, or directions
A valid National Police Check (less than six (6) months old) to the satisfaction of Link Wentworth, to be renewed every five (5) years or more frequently as reasonably required by Link Wentworth
Willingness to travel between Link Wentworth offices in metropolitan Sydney
