THE ROLE

The Senior Communications and Engagement Adviser plays a key role in delivering proactive communications and engagement to support Homes Victoria's major housing delivery and redevelopment programs across metropolitan Melbourne.
Reporting to the Head of Program Communications and Stakeholder Engagement, the role supports strategic campaign and precinct communications, stakeholder engagement, and public-facing activities to build understanding, trust and acceptance of initiatives such as the Big Housing Build, Social Housing Growth Fund, Housing Australia Future Fund, and the High-Rise Redevelopment Program.

Day-to-day your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and deliver communications and engagement materials and plans to support housing delivery and redevelopment across metropolitan Melbourne, ensuring they are aligned with project timelines and government messaging.
  • Draft a range of high-quality written materials, including community updates, digital content, briefings, campaign assets, event materials, stakeholder correspondence and internal communications.
  • Support engagement with stakeholders, community members, local councils, service providers and residents, including through the planning and delivery of meetings, forums and other engagement activities.
  • Assist in the delivery of coordinated communications and governance activities across high-rise redevelopment precincts, including working group support and stakeholder interface coordination.

ABOUT YOU

You lead with integrity, act with purpose, and bring the expertise and commitment needed to help deliver these urban renewal projects that are inclusive, respectful and transformative. Some of the skills, experience and mindset we're looking for include:

  • A tertiary qualification in communications or equivalent.
  • An appropriate accreditation, such as from the International Association of Public Participation (IAP2).
  • A valid Victorian Driver's Licence is required, as the role requires occasional travel.
