Green Zebra Restaurant & Bar in Parrearra, Queensland is currently looking for experienced and motivated Cooks and Kitchen Hands to join our team, providing an excellent opportunity to showcase your culinary expertise in a dynamic hospitality environment.

What You'll Be Doing:

👨‍🍳 Cook

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes to a high standard

Assist in maintaining kitchen hygiene and food safety standards

Work alongside a passionate and professional team

Contribute to menu development and daily specials (experience dependent)

Requirements:

Previous experience in a commercial kitchen or similar environment

Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced setting

A strong work ethic, punctuality, and team attitude

Food Safety Certificate (or willingness to obtain)

🧽 Kitchen Hand

Support chefs with food preparation and plating

Clean dishes, utensils, and kitchen areas to maintain hygiene standards

Assist with stock rotation and general kitchen duties

Requirements:

Prior experience preferred but not essential—we’ll train the right person!

Hardworking, reliable, and a team player

Available to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays

What We're Looking For:

• A Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.

• A minimum of three years of experience (as a Chef) in a similar hospitality environment, preferably within a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment.

• Proficiency in various cooking techniques and an understanding of Mediterranean cuisine.

• Excellent time management and multitasking skills

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting and adapt to a dynamic work environment.

• Passion for creating exceptional dining experiences

• Current Food Safety Handling Certificate or willingness to obtain one
