About the role
We are looking for an experienced Library Aide to support the College community in the continued promotion of the philosophy of the College, which is founded on the Mission Statement. This role requires a basic understanding of College processes to undertake the role. The successful candidate will provide assistance to the Librarian, while supporting a wide variety of fundamental library operations.
Duties
As a Library Aide, you will:
Assist in maintaining library circulation systems - record keeping of issues, returns, overdue materials;
Assist in maintaining records for borrowers;
Coordinating closed, reserved and bulk loans;
Assisting with phone enquiries relating to library services;
End processing and covering of library resources;
Undertaking shelving duties;
Assisting with display work and signage;
Assisting with reference queries and information retrieval;
Supporting the Librarian with student supervision before/after school, recess and lunch;
Assisting with organising class, small group and individual student bookings;
Assisting with photocopier requests and laminating tasks;
Assisting with receipt of goods/invoice checks/ownership stamping of goods received;
Assisting to repair books or physical resources.

Skills, experience and attributes required
Junior Certificate or its equivalent is the minimum formal qualification;
Microsoft Office and general computer skills required;
Current First Aid Certificate is desirable but not essential;
Possession of a Positive Notice - Paid Blue Card for working with children is essential;
Self-motivated, with the ability to work without supervision;
Excellent written and oral communication skills essential;
Well-developed interpersonal skills and organisational abilities;
Ability to demonstrate flexibility and to work as an effective team member.
Valid driver’s licence.
