Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Senior Engineer, Cloud (2 positions available) to join Digital Business Solutions, Administrative Division.
The Senior Engineer, Cloud will manage highly scalable, elastic and resilient cloud architectures that simultaneously address customer business problems and accelerate the adoption of cloud services. The role helps QUT business understand best practices around advanced cloud solutions and platforms and how to migrate existing workloads to the cloud. The role will collaborate with the architecture team and other IT Professionals to shape and execute a strategy to build support for and broad use of cloud services where appropriate. This position reports to the Manager, Cloud Infrastructure Services for career planning, development, and performance expectations.

What you need to succeed
- Education, training and/or experience equivalent to completion of a postgraduate qualification together with extensive relevant knowledge and experience in leading cloud technology service delivery within a large and diverse organisation.
- Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership, develop and promote a client centred, continuous improvement and quality assurance focus, including participating in the development and implementation of procedures and strategies.
- Proven ability to engage with business leaders and senior stakeholders, gather and document business requirements, and identify and resolve technical issues with a focus on implementing desired business outcomes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated experience communicating complex solutions clearly and confidently.
- Established relationship building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain productive and collaborative working relationships and effectively manage stakeholder expectations and requirements.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in leading the implementation, maintenance and support of cloud platforms at scale including on-premises private cloud technologies such as VMware and at least one public cloud solution such as AWS, Azure and GC
