About the Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and proactive professional to lead our psychosocial risk management initiatives. In this pivotal role, you will provide expert guidance and strategic leadership in identifying, assessing, and mitigating psychosocial risks across the University. You will drive the development and implementation of both local and University-wide improvement programs, helping to build organisational capability and resilience in psychosocial risk management.
This role is customer-focused, requiring strong communication and interpersonal skills to deliver high-quality service and expert advice. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders to negotiate and influence the design and delivery of effective wellbeing solutions. Your ability to solve complex strategic and operational challenges will be key in promoting a healthier, more supportive workplace environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of health and wellbeing and risk management strategies, polices and initiatives across the University.
- Lead psychosocial risk assessment and advise on local and enterprise level improvement program.
- Liaise with the Student Wellbeing team working to identify synergies and opportunities for joint working and collaboration.
- Maintain a high-level understanding of current and emerging legislation and be able to provide strategic advice, analysis, interpretation, recommendations and/or decisions regarding legislative issues to clients, particularly to researchers, facility operation managers and senior management.
- Build personal and effective relationships with clients and external stakeholders and proactively take the initiative to consult on a broad scale where change will affect other University operations as well as promoting a positive culture around health and wellbeing.
- Advises the Director Health, Safety & Wellbeing in developing Health and Wellbeing strategic priorities.
- Provide expert professional advice and consultancy to managers across the University to assist in management of complex issues relating to health and wellbeing risk management.
- Management and oversight of wellbeing suppliers, including the Employee Assistance Program; building a positive and collaborative relationship with suppliers, providing nuanced, tailored EAP/wellbeing solutions, and the procurement and tendering process, to efficiently and effectively renegotiate contracts, as required.
- Prepare quality reports, suitable for Executive and Council level and for committees to promote the understanding of wellbeing.
About you
- The occupant of this position will hold relevant graduate/ postgraduate qualifications in clinical psychology or organisation psychology with additional post graduate qualification in health and wellbeing.
Candidates must have full unrestricted Australian work rights and may be subject to a National criminal history check.
What we can offer
This is a continuing opportunity based at our Brisbane South (Nathan) campus. As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other campuses.
Salary is HEW 9 – Base range - $132,655.36 - $137,398.62 + 17% super. Full package range - $155,206.78 - $160,756.38.
