The Union Hotel is a community focused, proper local’s pub. Built in 1878, this Heritage-listed landmark has been the heart of the Ascot Vale community for over a century. Our guests love us because we deliver great service and great value! We are looking for someone who has attention to detail and a strong customer service focus - a host with the most.

Key Responsibilities
Functions & Events:

· Manage the end-to-end coordination of events — from enquiry to post-event follow-up

· Liaise with management and the head chef to develop menus and event concepts.

· Maintain close communication with clients to ensure their vision is brought to life

· Supervise and support front-of-house teams during events

· Maintain accurate records of all functions and client correspondence

Marketing & Promotion:

· Drive growth in function bookings through proactive marketing strategies

· Develop and implement digital marketing campaigns across social media and email platforms

· Create and manage promotional materials and in-house advertising

· Collaborate with the broader team to develop seasonal promotions and in-house events

What We’re Looking For

· Proven experience in function and event coordination, ideally in pubs or hotels

· An enthusiastic approach to marketing and activations.

· Communication skills (written and verbal)

· Leadership ability with a proactive and enthusiastic approach

· Willingness to learn booking systems and marketing software.

· Availability to work nights, weekends, and public holidays as required

· Current RSA required

· Outstanding customer service and engagement

· Previous experience in providing exceptional customer service in a supervisory role.

· The ability to maintain a positive working environment.
