About the role:

Ceejay Engineering is currently seeking skilled Metal Fabricator to join our growing team. The successful applicant will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and finishing a range of metal components and structures used across mining, manufacturing, and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

As a Metal Fabricator at Ceejay Engineering, you will be responsible for:

Identifying and implementing appropriate Work Health and Safety procedures, including correct use of PPE

Studying and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications to determine requirements

Selecting, cleaning, and preparing metal stock and fabrication tools

Cutting, rolling, bending, shaping, moulding, heating, and hammering metal components

Assembling and welding fabricated parts or sub-assemblies as per job requirements

Finishing fabricated components by cleaning, polishing, grinding, or using acid baths

Inspecting and ensuring the quality of fabricated parts and assemblies

Cleaning and smoothing welds by filing, chiselling, or grinding

Assisting in the transport and handling of finished products as needed

You will also be expected to:

Understand and apply Australian Standards, industry regulations, and terminology relevant to fabrication

Manage tools, materials, and resources efficiently to meet project deadlines

Work collaboratively with others and maintain a positive team culture

Communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, and team members to ensure clear expectations and updates

What We’re Looking For

Trade qualification in Metal Fabrication, Engineering Fabrication, or equivalent

Proven experience in a similar metal fabrication or welding role

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings accurately

Strong attention to detail and quality

Understanding of workplace safety practices and standards

Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team

MIG, TIG, or Stick welding experience highly regarded

What We Offer

$70,000- $80,000 per annum based on experience
