About Us?

The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region.

The Human Resources team sits within the larger Corporate Services operations. The Human Resources team is a busy team of 9 soon to be 11 with the addition of several new HR Administration roles. We actively work alongside a large organisation of 1000+ people. As a team, our aim is to provide all IUIH teams with the support that enables them to achieve their business objectives and theirs and IUIH’s overall mission and vision.

About the Role?

There are multiple positions available for both ongoing or fixed term contracts. The position of Human Resources Administrator plays a very important role in supporting Managers and Employees in maintaining HR compliance, including but not limited to ensuring employees maintain up to date employee records i.e. Blue/ Yellow Cards & Registrations.

In addition to compliance this role will also support the broader team with all aspects of the employee lifecycle and supporting the IUIH Head Office Reception team from time to time.

Day to Day Duties may Include:

  • Monitor, manage and respond to HR enquiries in designated HR mailboxes as and when required
  • Oversee the onboarding process for new staff
  • Provision of best practice, contemporary HR advice and assistance to employees and Managers on generalist HR matters / enquiries
  • Provide necessary support and guidance on HR policies and procedures to all employees and Managers
  • Administer and coordinate IUIH’s 2-day Induction program.
  • Undertake project work and activities as assigned by the HR Operations Manager.
  • Undertake HRIS administrator tasks including the setup and maintenance of new and existing users.
  • Enter data into HR systems as required to ensure all HR records remain current and up-to-date
  • Ensure currency and accuracy of compliance requirements including AHPRA registration, Blue Cards, Criminal History Checks and other identified compliance requirements for all IUIH positions
  • Undertake Blue Card and Criminal History Checking for risk assessed positions and manage the register of currency
  • Assist with pulling regular reports from HR systems to provide HR Advisors and business unit managers the necessary data / information on key HR functions including probation, end of contract and renewal of compliance requirements, i.e. licenses, registrations etc.

About You?

  • Passionate about integration and connecting with the broader organisation
  • A flare for Administration with an interest in Human Resources
  • Current C Class Drivers licence
  • Willingness to obtain a Criminal History Check

Desirable, but not mandatory:

  • Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities
  • HRIS systems experience
