An exciting opportunity exists for a confident and experienced Senior Property Underwriter to take ownership of a diverse and growing book of business across the Australia Pacific region.

In this role, you’ll underwrite ISR and SME Property risks under binder agreements and open market placements — including the chance to work on brand new risk types entering the Australian market. You’ll have the autonomy to drive results, backed by a collaborative, forward-thinking team and strong international underwriting partnerships.

This is a hybrid position with flexibility to work from home and the office, and includes occasional intrastate, interstate, and international travel for broker engagement and partner meetings.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Underwrite and manage the full lifecycle of ISR and SME Property risks under binder and open market arrangements.

Assess and price emerging and new-to-Australia risks, contributing to first-to-market opportunities.

Analyse portfolio performance and adjust pricing strategies to meet business goals.

Drive new business growth while maintaining long-term, sustainable broker relationships.

Attend broker presentations, marketing events, and industry functions.

Collaborate on the design and launch of innovative insurance products.

Support internal referrals and cross-sell across other lines of business.

Manage daily underwriting activities including quotes, endorsements, referrals, and documentation.

Ensure compliance with financial crime, AML, and sanctions obligations.

Mentor and support junior underwriters as required.

ABOUT YOU

Strong experience underwriting ISR and SME Property products.

Interest in or experience with underwriting new and emerging risks.

Analytical mindset with a focus on portfolio optimisation.

Proven ability to work independently and drive outcomes.

Established broker relationships and strong commercial acumen.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Commitment to professional development (minimum 25 CPD points per year).

Willingness to travel as needed for broker and underwriting partner meetings.
