About Us
Total Grower Services (TGS) is the agronomy arm of Metagen, a pioneering company dedicated to improving agricultural productivity through innovative soil health solutions, biological products, and plant nutrition systems.
TGS Burnett is one of several TGS businesses, servicing growers in the Bundaberg region and surrounding areas, with a focus on vegetables, cane, pasture, tree crops, and broadacre farming. We provide tailored agronomy services and utilize Metagen’s unique soil health diagnostics and products to deliver measurable improvements in yield, quality, and sustainability.
Role Overview
As the Sales Agronomist and IPM Scout with TGS Burnett, you will have a dual focus: delivering high-quality agronomy consulting services and driving sales of Metagen’s biological and nutritional products. Your work will involve supporting existing clients in vegetable, cane, and pasture crops, building on these established relationships, and contributing to the continued growth of TGS Burnett. Additionally, you will play a critical role in pest and disease monitoring and implementing integrated pest management (IPM) strategies to help growers achieve optimal outcomes.
This role would suit either a recent agronomy graduate looking to grow their skills or someone with existing agronomy experience seeking to further their career in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Team Collaboration and Training:
Work closely with the broader TGS Burnett team and Metagen’s microbiology and production staff to deliver integrated solutions.
Share knowledge and insights with team members and contribute to a collaborative work environment.
Participate in staff training and strategy sessions to stay at the forefront of industry developments.
Administration and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of client interactions, soil and leaf test results, and sales activities.
Prepare reports and recommendations for growers and management as required.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
A tertiary qualification in agronomy, agricultural science, or a related field.
Strong understanding of soil health, plant nutrition, crop management, and pest and disease monitoring and management, including integrated pest management (IPM) (training provided).
A willingness and ability to learn agronomy consulting and agricultural sales if not already experienced.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to proactively contact clients, drive business growth, and manage relationships effectively. This includes:
Demonstrating initiative in reaching out to clients and following up on opportunities.
Building trust and maintaining strong, professional client relationships.
Completing agronomic tasks and client requests in a timely and efficient manner.
