MyConnect is a fast-growing business helping Australians moving house get their essential utilities connected — fast, easily, and reliably. We're modernising our digital platform, and we’re looking for a UI/UX Engineer to join our engineering team and take ownership of the look, feel, and usability of our web experiences.

You'll work across both design and front-end development, creating high-quality interfaces and reusable components using Figma, React, Next.js, and Storybook.

About the Role

As UI/UX Engineer, you'll collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and developers to deliver polished, accessible, and performant user experiences. You’ll also help establish and maintain our internal design system and front-end standards, contributing to a culture of craft and consistency.

We’re looking for someone who can design thoughtful layouts in Figma and then bring them to life with clean, scalable React code — with an eye for detail and performance.

What You’ll Be Doing

Design and build new web interfaces using Figma, React, and Next.js

Create reusable, documented components using Storybook

Contribute to MyConnect’s front-end design system and visual standards

Ensure all interfaces meet accessibility (WCAG 2.1) and performance (Core Web Vitals) benchmarks

Work with engineering and product teams to deliver features that are user-friendly, fast, and reliable

What We’re Looking For

4+ years of front-end experience, including React and Next.js

Strong design skills, with experience using Figma for layout and component creation

Hands-on experience building and maintaining a component library (e.g. Storybook)

Understanding of web accessibility, responsive design, and performance optimisation

Collaborative mindset, with the ability to work well with designers and backend developers
