The impact you’ll make

• Lift the team. Mentor engineers and lead new cloud initiatives, setting DevOps standards across the university.

What you’ll do

• Automate and scale Azure (and occasional AWS) infrastructure via IaC (Bicep, ARM).
• Create YAML-based CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps that enable rapid, reliable releases.
• Implement monitoring, logging and alerting to keep services performant and resilient.
• Enforce tagging, naming and security policies; champion continuous improvement and cost optimisation.
• Act as senior escalation point for complex incidents while guiding junior engineers.

What you’ll bring

• 5 + years in DevOps/cloud engineering with deep Azure expertise and IaC skills (Bicep).
• Proven record building enterprise-grade CI/CD in Azure DevOps and managing containerised workloads.
• Strong grasp of cloud security, networking and FinOps practices.
• Natural coach and communicator who enjoys lifting team capability.
