Mechanical Fitter – Mine Dewatering Systems

We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our Kewdale-based team. This full-time, hands-on role is critical to the assembly, testing, and ongoing improvement of our dewatering systems and rotating equipment.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Services Manager, you will be responsible for:

Assembling and testing dewatering systems and rotating equipment to specification

Rebuilding client-supplied components with precision and attention to detail

Identifying and troubleshooting assembly issues, documenting findings for continuous improvement

Using overhead cranes and forklifts to safely move, load, and secure systems for dispatch

Contributing to general housekeeping and upholding workshop safety standards

What We’re Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will have:

A relevant trade qualification in mechanical engineering (Certificate or Diploma level)

3–5 years’ experience in a similar mechanical or assembly role

Proven ability to interpret technical drawings and use a range of hand and power tools

A current forklift licence (rigging/dogging ticket highly regarded)

Experience in or willingness to develop team leadership capabilities

High level of safety awareness and commitment to best practice

Competency with basic computer systems for work documentation

A proactive, team-oriented mindset and strong communication skills

Mechanical Maintenance highly regarded
