What You’ll Be Doing
As a Pathology Collector with Australian Clinical Labs, you’ll play a vital role in delivering high-quality healthcare services. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Collecting blood and other pathology specimens from patients with care, precision, and professionalism.
Ensuring accurate identification, labelling, and documentation of all specimens to maintain traceability and support reliable diagnostics.
Handling, storing, and preparing specimens for transport, while following strict protocols for cold chain management and infection control.
Managing clerical tasks, such as completing request forms, updating patient records, and entering data to ensure smooth and timely reporting.
Maintaining a clean and safe workspace, including sanitising equipment and adhering to hygiene standards.
Delivering compassionate patient care, making each collection a positive and reassuring experience.
Collaborating with your team and communicating clearly with patients, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to keep operations running smoothly.
Following all relevant policies and procedures, including those related to safety, privacy, and quality assurance.
Skills and Experience
To thrive in this role, you’ll bring:
Certificate III or IV in Pathology Collection, or equivalent hands-on experience in specimen collection.
Exceptional customer service skills, with a friendly and professional approach both in person and over the phone.
Clear and confident communication, with the ability to liaise effectively with patients, doctors, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
Strong ability to work independently, while also being a reliable and collaborative team player.
Flexibility to work across various collection centres, including weekday and weekend shifts.
Basic computer literacy, including data entry and navigating clinical systems.
A current Australian Driver’s Licence, essential for mobile and multi-site roles.
Full working rights in Australia, with the ability to meet compliance requirements.
