The Business Insights and Governance (BIG) Team plays a vital role in supporting strategic alignment, collaboration, and operational excellence. This team ensures compliance, transparency, and effective communication across the division, contributing to inclusive service delivery that empowers individuals and communities.
Your New Role
As an APS5 Project Officer, you will support governance and communication activities. Operating under limited direction, you'll undertake moderately complex to complex tasks including stakeholder engagement, governance coordination, and communication support. Your work will directly contribute to initiatives that enhance accessibility, inclusion, and outcomes for people with disabilities.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Coordinating and implementing governance frameworks and processes that support inclusive service delivery.
- Developing and reviewing communication materials such as reports, newsletters, and briefing documents with a focus on accessibility and clarity.
- Preparing governance documentation and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and disability inclusion standards.
- Engaging with internal stakeholders to support governance and communication initiatives that reflect the needs of people with disabilities.
- Monitoring and reporting on governance activities and communication outcomes, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Supporting project documentation, reporting, and coordination.
- Providing advice and guidance to team members on governance and communication matters.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service quality and accessibility.
What You'll Need to Succeed
Essential Skills:
- Demonstrated experience in governance and communication support, with the ability to identify and resolve issues.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement and make evidence-based decisions.
- Strong understanding of governance and communication in a regional service delivery context.
- Strategic awareness and adaptability.
- Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement experience.
- Experience in workflow coordination and mentoring less experienced staff.
- Innovative mindset with a focus on improving service quality and efficiency, particularly for people with disabilities.
Desirable Skills:
- Tertiary qualifications in communications, public administration, or a related field.
- Experience with government governance frameworks and communication protocols.
- Familiarity with APS policies, procedures, and service delivery standards.
- Understanding of disability inclusion principles and accessible communication practices.
Logistics
- 12-month contract with possibility of extension or permanency
- $55.24 per hour + super pay rate
- Hybrid and flexible working options
