DHA was established in 1988 following passage of the Defence Housing Australia Act 1987 (DHA Act) to provide adequate and suitable housing for, and housing related services to, members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and their families. DHA manages an expanding portfolio of housing solutions and provides housing for over 17,200 ADF members and their families and administers rent allowance for more than 16,000 ADF members and their families in private rental accommodation. DHA provides housing related services advising on eligibility, providing posting support, and managing bookings and allocation services for all DHA provisioned housing and on-base accommodation to approximately 60,000 ADF members.

About your team
The Development and Construction branch is situated within the Property Group. The Property Group is responsible for delivering quality properties in the portfolio that meet Defence Housing requirements. This is achieved a number of ways all with a focus on commercial analysis and planning.
The Development and Construction branch are responsible for acquiring and developing property sites as well as constructing dwellings that satisfy and fulfil the requirements of DHA’s corporate objectives and Defence housing requirements. This may include civil works, Greenfield or Brownfield development projects, integrated housing or medium density housing projects, low rise apartments and house construction projects.
About the role
The Project Coordination Team Leader is responsible for managing a team of geographically spread Contract Administrator & Project Coordinators. The function of each Contract Administrator & Project Coordinator is to provide project support for projects being undertaken within the Development and Construction team to ensure Defence housing requirements are met.
This role is responsible for providing clear direction and managing the daily program of work for a small team of Contract Administrator & Project Coordinators. They will need to ensure that resources are used effectively to achieve business outcomes across all projects. The role will also be a direct point of contact for the Director, Developments, responsible for providing organisational and planning assistance as required. This role requires effective communication and leadership skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and ensure actions are monitored through to completion.
The Project Coordination Team Leader may also be required to provide accurate advice to a range of stakeholders on escalated operational and administrative matters. This may extend to providing troubleshooting and problem-solving advice to resolve more complex invoice and contract related issues.
This role will require working with Development Managers on Projects providing finance, procurement, property handover support, in addition to managing the team of Project Coordinators.

The location of this role is flexible and open to negotiation; however, it is essential that the role be based in a location where we have a DHA office. A list of our office locations are located on our website. Flexible working arrangements may be negotiated in accordance with the DHA Enterprise Agreement
