Are you passionate about mental health rehabilitation and ready to lead meaningful change? SA Health's Northern Adelaide Local Health Network is seeking an exceptional Rehabilitation Service Program Manager for our new Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit at Modbury Hospital.

About the Role

The Modbury Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit offers contemporary, evidence based, and high quality rehabilitation services. The multidisciplinary team play a key role in delivering person centred, trauma-informed care within a collaborative environment. The MMHRU delivers rehabilitation services that are compassionate, solution focused, promoting skill development, social inclusion, and supporting consumers to achieve their recovery goals. Staff work in close connection with both Wondakka (Community Rehabilitation Centre) and The Gully services, supporting mental health rehabilitation service innovation and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and co-design.

This full-time, ongoing position offers the chance to shape innovative rehabilitation programs that genuinely transform lives. You'll not only provide operational and professional leadership to staff, but you will have the unique opportunity to play a key role in the initial service design, development, implementation, evaluation and positive culture of this brand new facility.

You will oversee comprehensive mental health services, ensuring our patients receive world-class care whilst leading a dedicated multidisciplinary team committed to recovery-focused outcomes.

Working within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN), a leading provider of public healthcare services in South Australia, you'll seamlessly manage service demand, support the flow of services between inpatient and rehabilitation services within the Mental Health Division, and drive quality improvement initiatives that align with SA Health's vision of leading the nation in health and wellbeing.

About You

We are seeking an experienced mental health professional with strong leadership capabilities, program management expertise, and deep understanding of rehabilitation principles. Your strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement skills, and passion for mental health recovery will drive service excellence.

To be eligible for this role, you must hold an appropriate degree or equivalent qualification for one of the following Allied Health disciplines working in the service, specifically:

  • Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia; OR
  • Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers; OR
  • Appropriate Degree (master’s in clinical or health Psychology) or equivalent qualification as recognised by the PsyBA and general registration with PsyBA (Hold approved supervisor status with the PsyBA at all levels of supervision).

Lyell McEwin Hospital The major hospital in the north and north-east for emergency care, complex and multi-day surgery, medicine, obstetrics, paediatrics and outpatient services.

Modbury Hospital A general hospital with emergency care, elective surgery, medicine, outpatient and sub-acute services, rehabilitation, geriatric and palliative care.
