Infusion Central is seeking an experienced and driven Nurse Practitioner (NP) to lead the setup and clinical management of a newly established Infusion Lounge located in our Broadmeadow clinic. This role also includes direct clinical support in Hunter Pain Specialists Injection Clinic, assisting with Botox and corticosteroid injections under specialist direction.

This is a unique opportunity for an advanced Nurse Practitioner to take ownership of a new service line, contribute to multidisciplinary pain management care, and work in a highly supportive and collaborative specialist environment.

Key Responsibilities

Infusion Lounge Setup and Leadership

Plan, coordinate, and oversee the full establishment of the Infusion Lounge, including:

Procurement of equipment and consumables

Development of clinical workflows, protocols, and safety procedures

Ensuring compliance with NSW Health, AHPRA, and infection control standards

Manage day-to-day operations, patient scheduling, and team coordination

Train and supervise nursing staff as required

Infusion Therapy

Independently assess patients and administer:

Iron infusions (e.g., ferric carboxymaltose)

Biologics (e.g., infliximab, Vedolizumab, Ustekinumab etc.)

Monitor patients for adverse reactions and manage infusion-related complications

Ensure accurate clinical documentation and contribute to patient education and follow up care

Pain Injection Clinic Support

Work alongside specialist pain physicians in the administration of:

Botulinum toxin (Botox) for chronic pain conditions (e.g., migraines, myofascial pain)

Steroid injections for musculoskeletal and spinal pain management

Assist with pre-injection assessments, preparation, and post-procedure care

Support the implementation of care plans and follow-up protocols

Advanced Clinical Practice

Prescribe medications, order diagnostic tests, and perform procedures within the NP scope

Provide holistic, patient-centered care and contribute to multidisciplinary treatment planning

Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement, and service development initiatives

Perform risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to enhance patient and staff safety

Selection Criteria

Essential

Current registration as a Nurse Practitioner with AHPRA

Proficient at cannulation

Demonstrated experience administering IV therapies including iron and biologics

Strong understanding of infusion protocols, patient monitoring, and emergency response

Experience or interest in pain management, particularly procedural pain interventions

Excellent clinical assessment, prescribing, and documentation skills

Proven leadership and organisational ability, with experience managing clinical services

Commitment to high standards of patient care, safety, and professional development

Desirable

Prior experience in the administration of Botox or steroid injections

Experience in establishing new services or clinics

Quality Management
