At National Patient Transport (NPT), we deliver essential non-emergency care to patients who need safe, respectful, and compassionate transport. We're currently recruiting casual Patient Transport Officers (PTOs) and Ambulance Transport Attendants (ATAs) to join our Regional Victoria team.
These are casual positions, with the opportunity to apply for permanent roles after six months of regular shifts.

Pay Rates
PTO: $30.41 per hour + casual loading, allowances and super
ATA: $34.66 per hour + casual loading, allowances and super
(Salaries as per the NPT Enterprise Agreement 2023)
About the Role
You’ll provide safe, reliable patient transport across regional Victoria, operating from one of our regional branches — Hamilton, Warrnambool, Wangaratta, Wodonga, Benalla, and Shepparton. Transfers include hospitals, aged care facilities, and private homes.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing patient care, monitoring, and clinical handovers for low- and medium-acuity transfers
Complying with NEPT Clinical Practice Protocols, safety standards, and operational procedures
Driving patient transport vehicles safely and legally across Victoria
Delivering person-centred care with clear, respectful communication
What You’ll Need
For PTO roles:
Minimum Certificate III in Non-Emergency Patient Transport or Certificate IV in Healthcare (or higher)
For ATA roles:
Diploma of Emergency Health Care or Bachelor of Paramedicine, plus 400+ hours of supervised clinical experience (or willingness to complete while working as a PTO)
OR Bachelor of Nursing
Additional requirements:
Full, unrestricted Victorian driver’s licence (not probationary)
Clean driving record
National Police Check and Working with Children Check (Employee card)
Fully vaccinated in line with Victorian Department of Health requirements (e.g., influenza, pertussis, MMR, Hep B, varicella)
