With a strong footprint in aged care, hospital partnerships, and community services, we are now expanding our NEPT operations in the Melton region.
The Role:
We are seeking Patient Transport Officers (PTOs) and Ambulance Attendants to join our dynamic and growing NEPT team. You will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of patients to and from hospitals, aged care facilities, dialysis units, and specialist appointments.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely operate stretcher and wheelchair-accessible NEPT vehicles.
Provide compassionate, non-clinical care during patient journeys.
Conduct pre-departure vehicle and equipment checks.
Communicate effectively with dispatch, healthcare facilities, and patients.
Maintain accurate trip and patient care records.
Assist with lifting and patient handling as required (within manual handling guidelines).
Adhere to infection control, safety procedures, and NEPT regulations.
Requirements:
HLT31120 – Certificate III in Non-Emergency Patient Transport (or equivalent) – Mandatory.
Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009) certificates.
Valid Victorian Driver’s License (full) with excellent driving record.
National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
Working with Children Check (Employee).
Fully vaccinated in line with Victorian Department of Health requirements (e.g., influenza, pertussis, MMR, Hep B, varicella)
Good physical fitness for patient handling tasks.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
For ATA roles:
Diploma of Emergency Health Care or Bachelor of Paramedicine, plus 400+ hours of supervised clinical experience (or willingness to complete while working as a PTO)
OR Bachelor of Nursing
Desirable:
Experience working in NEPT, ambulance services, or health transport roles.
Manual Handling and Infection Control training.
Familiarity with Melton and surrounding suburbs.
