The Company

Our client owns and manages the Perth Markets located in Canning Vale on a 51-hectare site where approximately 140 tenants operate across a range of facilities, including trading bays, warehouses, offices, and loading docks. These tenants predominantly deal in the wholesale and processing of fresh produce. Our client is currently seeking a motivated and reliable Maintenance Officer to join the team on a temp to full-time basis.

The Role

This role and the responsibilities will be varied across the business, where you will be responsible for the following:

Perform general light repairs across the worksite

Replace and maintain door closes and associated furniture with refitting doors as required

Provide support to onsite trades as required

Replace light globes around the worksite

Assist with external yard duties on occasion

Manage incoming maintenance requests and work orders

Operation of hand tools relevant to tasks

Perform minor plumbing tasks such as tap/hose replacements

Undertake working at heights tasks – training will be provided

The Candidate

Ideally, we are seeking a candidate that has worked in a similar role for at least 1 year in roles such as;

Maintenance Worker

Handyperson

Essential Criteria:

WA Drivers Licence

Current Forklift Licence - with experience operating – highly desired

Working at Heights Ticket – or willing to obtain – training provided – highly desired

EWP – with experience operating a scissor and boom lift – highly desired

Desirable Traits & Skills:

Possess excellent verbal & written English communication skills

Be focused on customer service, providing a friendly, professional and detailed service to all stake holders

Possess good problem-solving skills through Initiative

Highly organized with the ability to quickly prioritise work tasks regularly

Flexible and willing to take on new tasks and responsibilities as required, within the framework of the position

Work well in a team environment as well as autonomously

Working Days & Hours:

Monday – Friday – 9-day fortnight

7:00am – 4.00pm

Remuneration

This is a Temp-to-Perm opportunity. You will initially be employed by Staff-Net, and after a successful 3 to 6-month period, may be offered the opportunity to transition to a permanent role with our client.

Casual Pay Rate: $36.00 – $38.00 flat rate + super

Full Time Salary: 70K + training opportunities + uplifts + super
