Are you the kind of person who could chat for hours about Monet’s brushstrokes, the smell of oil paint, or that dreamy new exhibition opening in town? Do you find joy in guiding others through their creative journeys while sipping tea and discussing art, films, and the colour of the sky at golden hour?

If that sounds like you – we’d love to meet you!

We’re on the lookout for a passionate, bubbly, and art-loving tutor to lead our adult oil painting classes in classic and impressionist styles. Our students are curious, kind, and eager to learn – they just need someone like you to help bring their ideas to life.

What You’ll Be Doing:
• Guiding students through their oil painting projects with encouragement, patience, and solid technical advice and helping students finish their artworks while learning real techniques they’ll be proud of
• Keeping the conversation flowing – about art history, current exhibitions, favourite brushes, or that stunning scene in a movie last night
• Take photos of the process and artworks done
• Creating a welcoming, uplifting atmosphere in the classroom
• Offering gentle critiques and helpful suggestions (and knowing when to just say “that’s beautiful, keep going”)

We’re Looking for Someone Who:
• Has experience teaching or mentoring adults in visual art
• Works confidently with oil paints and canvas – particularly in classical or impressionist styles
• Loves talking about art (and artists, and galleries, and books, and… you get the idea)
• Is warm, chatty, and knows how to make people feel at ease
• Can balance personal projects with structured learning
• Isn’t afraid of a little paint on their hands or sparkle in their conversation

Bonus points if you:
• Are an exhibiting artist yourself

• Have a good eye on photo and video
• Can tell the difference between Naples Yellow and Yellow Ochre from across the room

This is a casual position with weekly evening classes and the potential for additional workshops or events throughout the term.
