About the role

Dadaru pty ltd' is seeking experienced Transhipment Operators to join the team in Yampi Sound Cockatoo Island Mine on a casual employment basis. In this strategic role, you will be responsible for loading cargo ships as Transhipment operators ensuring the efficient and safe loading of resources. When ships are not being loaded you will be utilised in the surface mining operations for Cockatoo Island Mine.

What you'll be doing

Operate a range of ship deck cranes to load iron ore using the Transhipment and barging method

Assist with the loading and unloading of materials and resources, ensuring efficient and safe handling throughout surface mining and ship loading operation

Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental regulations to maintain a safe and sustainable workplace

Monitor and report on operational metrics, identifying areas for improvement

Contribute to the continuous improvement of mining and shipping processes and procedures

What we're looking for

Experience in a similar mining operations or transhipment roles

Proficiency in operating a wide range of heavy machinery and equipment, with a strong focus on safety

Ability to work effectively in a team, as well as independently, to achieve operational objectives

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically to address challenges

Commitment to maintaining a safe and environmentally responsible work environment

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders

Relevant licenses and certifications, such as a Heavy Vehicle Licence and Machinery Operator Tickets
