We’re looking for an experienced and skilled practitioner who’s ready to take a step back from day-to-day delivery and lead change from a systems and practice perspective. As Senior Practitioner – Families Program (QLD), you’ll work closely with the General Manager to improve how our services function, from frameworks and processes through to implementation and outcomes.

You’ll bring a structured, analytical approach to problem-solving. You are able to look at what’s happening, explore the root causes, weigh up options, and help decide the best way forward. Sometimes that might mean being present on the ground; other times it will mean reshaping systems, tools, or training to improve practice at scale.

About Infinity Community Solutions Ltd (ICS)

ICS is a boutique, secular, social purpose organisation delivering high-quality, evidence-informed services across Queensland and South Australia. We specialise in trauma-informed child and family services, including Out-of-Home Care, Family Support, and Disability Supports.

Our work is values-driven, outcomes-focused, and built on ethical, reflective practice. We believe in professional rigour, cultural humility, and making a meaningful difference, together.

About the role

The Senior Practitioner – Families Program (QLD) is a strategic, practice-focused role that supports excellence across ICS’s child and family services. Working closely with the General Manager and other senior leaders, this role leads key initiatives that strengthen service delivery, embed evidence-informed practice, and build capability across teams.

Positioned at the intersection of practice, systems, and implementation, this role is ideal for someone who understands service delivery deeply but is ready to step back from the frontline to influence how services are designed, structured, and continuously improved.

You apply critical thinking to complexity, drawing on insight, evidence, and frontline experience to identify root causes, clarify the problem space, and design responses that are both strategic and actionable. Your approach is thoughtful and deliberate, recognising that while some solutions require hands-on engagement, many arise from influencing the broader systems, structures, or frameworks that support sustainable, high-quality practice.

Striking a balance between practical engagement and strategic oversight, this position supports meaningful change that aligns with the lived experience of frontline teams while advancing service excellence.

Key focus areas:

Lead and manage projects that improve operational systems and frontline practice quality

Translate strategic goals into real-world changes through clear frameworks, processes, and tools

Support the integration of updated policies, procedures, and practice frameworks

Contribute to risk management, compliance, and service evaluation activities

Lead quality improvement activities across Families Programs (QLD)

Monitor, interpret, and use data from service delivery, compliance, and audits to inform improvements and decision-making

Support staff and leaders through mentoring, guidance, and capacity building

Develop resources such as practice tools, training materials, and implementation plans

Promote inclusive, culturally safe practice across all workstreams

What’s in it for you?

Full-time, permanent role with competitive salary

Salary packaging available to boost your take-home pay

Work in a values-led, trauma-informed organisation

Supportive team culture with strong practice and quality focus

Access to professional development and learning opportunities

EAP and wellbeing support

Who we’re looking for:

Tertiary qualified in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field

At least 5 years’ experience in the human services sector, including child and family services

Demonstrated experience leading strategic or operational projects in community services

Strong understanding of trauma-informed and culturally responsive practice

Experience mentoring others and leading change through influence

Ability to work collaboratively across teams and analyse service data to to identify opportunities for improvement

Clear, confident communicator with excellent writing and reporting skills

Able to manage competing priorities with professionalism and thoughtful judgement

Current Driver Licence and eligibility for relevant checks (e.g., Blue Card)

Desirable but not essential:

Experience with models such as Family Partnership, Safe & Together, Sanctuary, TCI or TBRI

Experience in Out-of-Home Care, Family Support, or Domestic and Family Violence services

Knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and communities
