PURPOSE

The purpose of this role is to contribute to the successful delivery of construction projects by performing high-quality carpentry work in line with industry standards and project specifications. This is a full-time, permanent position available at MELBOURNE MASTER PAINTING & MAINTENANCE PTY. LTD as a Carpenter

REPORTING TO

The position reports to the Operation Manager

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
At least 2 years of full-time, relevant work experience in carpentry within the last 5 years

Requirement:

Motivated and proactive, with a strong work ethic.

· Knowledge of Australian building codes and safety practices

· Ability to read and understand building plans

· Reliable, team-oriented, and professional attitude

· A Adaptable and eager to grow within the role and the company

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

· Measure and cut timber or panels according to layout plans, then prepare them for assembly

· May repair wooden fixtures, doors, and frames in existing buildings

· Assemble wooden parts by nailing or screwing them together to create frames, supports, or furniture

· Could be involved in formwork construction for concrete pouring

· Occasionally work with synthetic materials like laminate sheets, perspex, or metal fittings for finishing touches

· Assemble wooden structures in the workshop or on-site before installation

· Build subfloors, flooring systems, roofing frames, and check that everything is aligned and straight

· Install building elements like plywood, exterior panels, wood, roofing materials, doorways, and window units

· Read technical drawings to understand what materials to use and how to carry out the construction tasks

· Shape timber joints to connect different parts securely

SALARY

· $83,000 per year + Superannuation

WORKING HOURS

Full-time position, 38 hours per week.
