We are looking for 2 experienced engineers, 1 electrical and 1 mechanical for lead engineer / package manager roles, to assist our Tier 1 Mining Client for their major tailings dam project. The roles are 5/2 rosters based in the brisbane office for the next 18 months, from this date they will move to a hybrid FIFO roster on a 12/9 roster for another 3 years with scope for extension beyond this.

The Roles

We are hiring two senior engineering professionals—one Mechanical/Piping Engineer Lead and one Electrical/Instrumentation Engineer Lead—each acting as a Package Manager on the Owner’s Team for a major $1 billion mining project. The project is currently in detailed design (1.5 years), moving into execution (3.5 years).

These roles are client-side and responsible for managing the EPCM contractor throughout both phases. We are seeking engineers with 5+ years of design experience and recent roles as project engineers or package managers. While a strong technical background is essential to review and challenge EPCM design outputs, this is not a hands-on design role. Instead, you will operate in a governance and compliance capacity—ensuring adherence to scope, budget, timelines, and formal processes such as change management. Your role is critical in holding the EPCM accountable and driving successful project delivery.

The two roles available for immediate start are:

Mechanical / Piping Engineer Lead / Package Manager

Electrical / Instrumentation Engineer Lead / Package Manager

We have no shortage of work at the moment and can pay well because of our low overheads. These roles are stable embedded roles for the next 5 years whilst the tailings dam and other affiliated projects are executed (and likely extensions), with the ability to move to one of our many other clients on completion of this project at the same pay rate. All expenses will be paid for with Brisbane as the point of hire in the event of any travel.

To be considered you must meet the following criteria:

A tertiary qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Experience as a lead engineer or package manager. With a strong design background but also the ability to manage the EPCM.

You have previous practical experience in mining in Australia with tailings experience being highly regarded.

Located in Brisbane, or, willing to relocate, expectation is 5 days a week in the South Bank office.

Current Australian drivers licence.

Have exceptional and professional communication skills to engage and influence other personnel within the business.

Have excellent time management and task prioritisation skills.
