Exceptional role establishing the Internal Audit, Compliance and Control framework

South Western Sydney, $150k-200k + Super + Bonus

We are representing a successful global powerhouse within the industrial manufacturing and distribution sector that delivers a range of products to the consumer and commercial market through a complex national supply chain footprint. Following a recent corporate transaction the business needs to enlist the services of a proactive and high performing professional to build the internal control framework for the Australian region.

This newly created role will be responsible for establishing and leading a new Internal Audit function for the combined Australian region ($1Bn revenue), ensuring an effective internal control environment, driving compliance with J-SOX requirements, and coordinating risk-based audits across the business. This includes branch audits, business process reviews, and HSEQ audits.

This is a hands-on leadership role ideally suited to someone with Big 4 Internal Audit experience and a practical, business-oriented mindset. The successful candidate will partner across departments to embed a culture of accountability, control awareness, and operational excellence.

You are CPA/CA/CIA qualified with a minimum of 6-8 years' internal audit experience, with time spent in a Big 4 Professional Audit firm (mandatory). You will possess strong knowledge of internal control frameworks (SOX or J-SOX) and demonstrable experience of planning and delivering end-to-end audits in a complex multi-site environment. A natural problem solver with exceptional stakeholder engagement and executive communication skills who thrives on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
