Cootamundra Golf & Sports Club has an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Greenkeeper to join it's grounds team and learn the trade on its iconic golf course. This is a full-time opportunity is open to first year apprentices who have a passion for the outdoors and want a supported and engaging apprenticeship experience.
The Club boasts a par 71 18-hole course which spans over the Clubs 120 acres of land. This course is fully irrigated with state-of-the-art technology, and is host to esteemed tournaments and competitions which inspire enthusiasts Australia wide to make the scenic trip inland. As part of the Wyong Leagues Group, Cootamundra Golf & Sports Club has a strong connection to community and we are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, hardworking, and reflects our values. This is a great opportunity for a person who is passionate about pursuing a career in greenkeeping. The successful candidate will preferably have a current drivers licence and reliable vehicle, will be self-motivated, reliable and have the ability to take direction.
The successful candidate will be completing their apprenticeship over a four year period, undertaking all roles to become a qualified tradesperson, and will be required to attend TAFE one day per week or block release as part of their employment.
About the role:
Weekday and weekend work will be required - 38 hours per week
Early starts required
All work will be conducted outdoors
Follow Work Health and Safety processes
Maintaining and renovating of greens
Green waste clearing and removal
Treatment of weeds/pests
Maintain machinery and tools
General gardening, lawn mowing, edging, brush cutting, pruning hedges and trees

What you must have;
Physically fit
Current drivers licence and reliable vehicle preferable
True passion for the industry
Willingness to learn and within a small team
Reliable with good time management skills
TAFE is an important part of the role, therefore excellent attendance is necessary and great results are required.
