About the Role
As a Pool Lifeguard at AFAC, you won’t just be supervising swimmers — you’ll be creating a welcoming, safe, and high-standard aquatic experience for our growing community.
You’ll:
- Provide vigilant pool supervision, quick emergency response, and excellent customer care
- Keep our aquatic areas safe, clean, and calm — even during busy peak times
- Monitor patron behaviour and uphold safety policies with professionalism
- Collaborate with a supportive, well-trained team who’ve got your back every shift
- Be a visible and valued presence — often the first to notice when someone needs help
You’ll be based at AFAC, the beating heart of health and wellbeing in Armadale, and a multi-award-winning centre known for its innovation and inclusive approach to community fitness.
About You
You’re someone who:
- Is calm under pressure and confident in the water
- Genuinely cares about helping others feel safe and supported
- Can adapt to a variety of shifts — including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
- Works well in a team, but also takes personal responsibility
You’ll require:
- A current Pool Lifeguard certificate (essential)
- A current Provide First Aid HLTAID011 (Essential).
- National Police Clearance (or willing to obtain)
- Great customer service and communication skills
- (Ideally) some previous lifeguard experience at a public pool but not essential
