Principal Software Engineer – Enterprise Transformation Program
We are looking for a highly skilled Principal Software Engineer to join a fast-paced, enterprise-scale transformation program within a leading financial services organisation. About the Role As a Principal Engineer, you will play a key role in defining technical strategy and delivering complex solutions across cloud and on-premise environments. This role will see you leading the design and build of highly scalable microservices, APIs, and resilient digital platforms, all while applying a security-first mindset.
You’ll be hands-on, guiding teams and mentoring engineers while influencing technical direction across the business.
Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of large-scale, cloud-based software solutions.
• Modernise legacy platforms by breaking them into modular, maintainable systems.
• Build and optimise APIs and services capable of handling significant transaction loads.
• Ensure reliability and security through modern DevOps practices and automation.
• Contribute to architectural decisions that shape long-term technology direction.
• Establish high standards for code quality, testing, and performance monitoring.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching, and support to engineering teams.

Skills and Experience We’d like to hear from you if you bring:

• Proven expertise in backend development with .NET Core.
• Strong frontend skills in React/Redux (preferred) or Angular.
• Hands-on experience with relational and non-relational databases.
• Practical knowledge of AWS (preferred) or similar cloud platforms.
• Background in microservices design, including event-driven approaches.
• Proficiency in languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Go, or Python.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code tools.
• A track record of building secure, resilient, and scalable systems.
