About your role

As Principal Consultant in Human Resources, you will lead a dedicated team supporting Metro South Addiction and Mental Health Services (MSAMHS). Your role is pivotal in managing HR activities including industrial relations, injury management, and compliance with Queensland Health policies and legislation. You will coordinate projects, conduct investigations into workplace matters, develop and deliver training, and foster strong business partnerships to drive organisational goals. Leadership, expert advice, and effective communication underpin your daily work to ensure a supportive, respectful, and legally compliant work environment.

You are a skilled HR professional with strong leadership and expertise in industrial relations, workforce management, and employee engagement. Your excellent communication and problem-solving abilities enable you to build trusted partnerships and drive positive, compliant workplace outcomes.

Key Skills:

  • Proven leadership and people management skills, with ability to guide and develop teams
  • Strong expertise in industrial/employee relations, workplace investigations, and case management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including business report writing and negotiation
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply legislation, awards, and policy within complex health sector settings
  • Strategic thinker with skills in continuous improvement and workforce planning
  • Commitment to equity, diversity, and ethical decision-making in the workplace
