Short Grain is a modern Thai restaurant, owned and operated by renowned chef Martin Boetz.

Located in the heart of Fortitude Valley in a beautiful heritage building, Short Grain combines contemporary design and architectural innovations while also providing a state-of-the-art venue in which to work.

THE ROLE

We are currently seeking a Restaurant Manager to join the team. As the Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing restaurant operations, ensuring a seamless and exceptional dining experience for our customers. This is a hands-on role that requires excellent communication skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Oversee all daily operations, including staffing, daily services, and customer enquiries.

Implement and enforce policies and procedures to maintain high standards of service, cleanliness and organisation.

Work closely with the accounts team to manage FOH costs, budgets and sales performance.

Manage and optimise all back of house systems including Lightspeed POS, Seven Rooms reservations and Shopify.

Collaborate with the bar manager to produce high quality drinks and wine lists.

Work creatively with the head chef and owner to generate new streams of revenue.

Requirements:

Previous experience in a supervisory or management role in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Detail-oriented with a focus on providing exceptional customer service.

Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
