Six Degrees has partnered with a leading industrial manufacturing business to recruit an experienced Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Business Partner for their Aftermarket (Technician/Repairs and Instalations) business unit. With operations across Australia, this role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact in driving a proactive safety culture across the organisation. The services team comprises of over 120 technicians who are on the road, servicing, quoting and installing their products. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar environment.
This is a permanent, full-time position based out of Western Sydeny. It is ideal for a Safety professional who thrives in operational environments and wants to play a strategic and hands-on role in embedding best practice safety systems.
About the Role:
The OHS Business Partner will work closely with department leaders, front line teams, and key stakeholders to support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of health and safety systems. You’ll be a critical player in building safety leadership, improving incident prevention, and ensuring compliance with WHS legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice on WHS legislation, policies, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Partner with operational leaders to embed a safety-first culture and drive accountability.
- Lead incident investigations with robust root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
- Develop and deliver WHS policies, risk assessments, and safety training programs.
- Conduct regular safety audits and site risk assessments, identifying and resolving gaps.
- Support RTW programs in collaboration with HR and external rehab providers.
- Manage WHS documentation and ensure compliance with ISO 45001 or equivalent standards.
- Analyse safety data to report on trends, performance metrics, and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Facilitate safety committees, toolbox talks, and effective worker consultation initiatives.
About you:
- Passionate about all things Saftey!
- Minimum Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (Diploma preferred).
- 4+ years’ experience in a Safety advisor or Coordinator role, ideally within service, manufacturing or logistics
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, risk management frameworks, and safety systems.
- Experience with workers compensation is highly regarded
- RTW Coordinator training and experience managing workplace injuries and rehabilitation.
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence and build trust at all levels.
- Competent with HSE systems (e.g., Donesafe) and safety reporting tools.
- Highly organised, detail-focused, and solutions-oriented.
