Promote the values of CORE to provide clients with independence, participation, care, self-fulfilment and dignity. Ensure awareness and support of the philosophies of healthy ageing and independent living and upholding the rights of clients. The role primarily focuses on providing Early Intervention Case Work and support to young people, predominantly in the 12-18 age range, who have complex needs, who are homeless or at risk of homelessness across the South Western Sydney Area District. The position will provide this support in young people’s environments, to improve their access to homelessness services and support initiatives, education & training, living skills training and links to broader health and mental health, welfare, child protection and alcohol and other drug services. The position will liaise with and coordinate support from agencies that offer relevant services to the clients group and their families/ carer givers. The position requires a commitment to organizational values and the achievement of strategic and business objectives. All work undertaken will reflect CORE Community Services Mission and Values. The role will require the incumbent to initiate new community partners to establish outreach and training programs.
Responsibilities Include:
- Develop, implement and evaluate Centre based programs in order to address the issues and interests of young people, families and community.
- Collaborate with internal and external agencies to facilitate early intervention and prevention workshops with aims to increase community awareness of local support services.
- Facilitate evidence-based workshops in schools that center around personal development and capacity building activities that are in line with the Targeted Earlier Intervention Outcomes Framework.
- Coordinate and implement community events, activities/excursions and festivals to promote awareness of services offered by CORE CS.
- Complete appropriate referrals for young people, families and persons in community to relevant services to adhere to the No Wrong Door policy.
- Actively participate in local and sector networks, working groups and community interagency groups.
- Attend team and Centre staff meetings and assist with day to day administrative duties.
- Ensure that all appropriate data is submitted within the set timeframe and are always kept confidential and in a locked cabinet.
- Keep all records and statistics in order to assist in reporting and evaluation of programs and activities.
- Complete and submit risk assessments, program proposals and evaluations to the manager in accordance with the departmental contractual agreement within set timeframe.

Selection Criteria
- Relevant diploma/tertiary qualifications and/or extensive experience in this area and in related fields.
- Demonstrated experience working with young people 12 to 25 years, families and in community.
- Proficient skills and experience using Microsoft office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams)
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication and cultural competency skills.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel frequently, work on weekends, early mornings and evenings, as required.
- Hold a current full Australian Drivers’ License
- Willing to use own vehicle to travel to local events (mileage reimbursed).
- Strong track record in building, growing and maintaining networks with a range of stakeholders to expand reach and maximise engagement outcomes.
- Experience planning and coordinating events, including the ability to troubleshoot when necessary.
- Experience identifying, establishing and strengthening strategic partnerships.
- Demonstrated dedication to work within professional boundaries, integrity and ethical standards
- Demonstrated sensitivity to First Nations people and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities
- Demonstrated experience in facilitating group work activities
