About the Position
Reporting to the Team Leader Civil Maintenance, the position of Project Officer is an integral role within the Civil Maintenance Team which is responsible for undertaking the planning, management and reporting of allocated projects and programs by coordinating the physical, contractual and financial resources to deliver council’s maintenance works programs.
About You
The successful applicant will have experience in the delivery of complex projects with a detailed understanding of project and program work, contract management, financial management and risk management processes to deliver projects and program work on time, within budget and to a high level of quality, without compromising on the safety and risk aspects of the projects.
Applicants will be skilled professionals with broad experience in the civil maintenance industry, self-motivated and with the desire to be a member of a team that prides itself on high quality service delivery. In addition, you will possess strong project and budget management skills, coupled with a proven leadership capability, with an ability to influence people by challenging the way things are done and leading by example.

Key Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated experience in all civil maintenance activities including the development and implementation of maintenance programs using contemporary procurement models
- Demonstrated experience in the management of human, financial, physical and technical resources.
- Proven experience in project, program, contract and contractor management relating to road and unsealed roads, carparks, linemarking, underground drainage, footpaths, watercourse maintenance, wetlands, coastal maintenance and other civil activities.
- Knowledge of asset management and maintenance management principles and systems.
- Time management and work prioritisation skills to plan, schedule and control multiple projects
- Sound knowledge of project management and financial management (budgeting) principles and practices.
