The Port of Darwin is Northern Australia’s port of choice for both import and export trade. We have commercial wharf facilities at East Arm and the cruise ship terminal at Fort Hill Wharf.

Darwin Port provides world class pilotage and harbour control systems and a seamless supply chain capable of handling containers, bulk liquids, bulk materials, live exports and heavy lift oversized cargoes. As operations continue to grow, so too does the importance of clear and consistent communication. This role plays an important part in supporting how we engage with the community and our stakeholders, and how we communicate the port’s role in the development of Northern Australia and emerging markets.

The Position

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced part-time Content and Media Officer to join our team at Darwin Port. Your main focus will be to strengthen Darwin Port’s social media presence and build on our existing community engagement, as well as leading our internal and external communications.

This is a part time role, working 2.5 days per week.

Skills & Experience

You will hold qualifications in marketing, communications, public relations and/or demonstrated experience in such a role as a minimum.

To be successful, you will have previous experience in a social media marketing or communications role and with exceptional organisational, problem solving and administrative skills. High attention to detail, and excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.

All applicants must hold or be eligible to obtain a Maritime Security Identity Card (MSIC). Applicants must also be willing to undergo pre-employment screening, which includes Criminal History Checks.

The successful applicant will need sufficient transport to get to work, there is no Public Transport (buses) or bicycle accessible to the Darwin Port.
