About the role
Federation TAFE is home to vocational education and training delivered by Federation University Australia and offers a broad range of quality education and training programs, reflecting state and national priorities that address the training needs of individuals and industry.
We are seeking two full-time teachers to deliver Certificates in General Education for Adults within the classroom environments in the Grampians prisons at H.M.P. Langi Kal Kal and Hopkins Correctional Centre; and two full-time teachers within the Barwon Southwest prisons of Western Plains Correctional Centre, H.M.P. Barwon, Marngoneet Correctional Centre and Karreenga Annex.
Utilising your previous experience and/or teaching knowledge you will address the education and training needs of adults who need to improve their literacy, basic maths, and general education skills to access further study, employment, or to participate in the community.
About you
Reporting to the Program Manager, you will have the ability to research, develop and implement innovative and appropriate teaching curriculum while effectively utilising online learning platforms and technologies. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to complete administrative tasks, including the ability to maintain accurate online and physical records.
You will:
- plan, prepare deliver and assess training programs;
- monitor, assess and record student attendance, progress and results;
- participate in internal and external contractual audits;
- evaluate student teaching and learning resources; and
- possess a current security FIT2Work clearance.
It is a requirement of this position that you hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or a diploma or higher level qualification in adult education.
