Lead the Energy Safety Policy team - a high performing team delivering an election commitment for a safe energy transition; governance of the regulator Energy Safe Victoria; and important reforms to Victoria's energy safety laws!
The Manager, Energy Safety Policy, leads the team responsible for developing and delivering energy safety policy and legislative reform, and providing expert policy and governance advice to senior departmental executives, the Minister and Cabinet. The successful candidate will have demonstrated people management and policy development experience, as well as a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and constructively with a diverse range of stakeholders to deliver desired outcomes.
The successful candidate will apply an outcomes and delivery focused approach to their work, be able to deliver a work program with a high level of complexity and sensitivity and operate under broad direction. They will have demonstrated people management and policy development experience, as well as a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and constructively with a diverse range of stakeholders to deliver desired outcomes. In this important leadership role, the successful candidate will need to exercise a significant degree of independence, discretion and good judgement.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience and sound knowledge of the public sector is desirable.
- Tertiary qualification(s) including qualification(s) in science, engineering, law, economics, public policy or similar is desirable.
This is a fixed term position available for a period of 2 Years. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
