Position Overview: The Duty Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of Irish Murphy's and the candidate must be willing to work that include weekends and late nights. This position demands a dynamic individual who can manage a busy environment, maintain high standards of customer service, and oversee all aspects of the pub's operations, including live music events, bar service, gaming areas, and food service.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Management:

• Oversee the operations of the pub during assigned shifts, ensuring all areas, including bars, gaming, and kitchen, run smoothly.
• Coordinate and manage live music events, ensuring schedules are adhered to and artists are supported.

Customer Service:

• Ensure exceptional customer service is delivered consistently, addressing any issues or complaints promptly and effectively.
• Engage with patrons to enhance their experience and foster a welcoming environment.

Staff Supervision:

• Lead and motivate a diverse team of bartenders, kitchen staff, and security personnel.
• Manage staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage during peak hours, and provide ongoing training and support.

Compliance and Safety:

• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including licensing laws, health and safety standards, and gaming regulations.
• Implement and monitor security procedures to maintain a safe environment for both staff and patrons.

Financial Management:

• Monitor cash handling procedures, perform end-of-day reconciliations, and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Assist with inventory management, including ordering and stock control to minimise waste and manage costs.

Promotions and Events:

• Collaborate with venue manager and marketing team to plan and execute promotional activities and special events.
• Ensure all promotional materials are appropriately displayed and that events are well-organised and promoted.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in a managerial role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a pub or bar environment.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage and inspire a diverse team.
• Excellent customer service skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Knowledge of live music event management, bar operations, gaming regulations, and food service.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and night shifts.
• RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) and RSG (Responsible Service of Gambling) certifications are required.
• RMLV (Responsible Management of Licensed Venue) certificate is required or willingness to complete.
• Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
