ABOUT THE ROLE
Lead a dynamic, future-focused precinct that connects education, industry, and innovation, driving commercial success and impactful partnerships.
The Commercial Manager – Logic Innovation Precinct (LIP) plays a pivotal role in positioning the precinct as a national leader in education, applied research, and industry engagement. Responsible for driving growth and revenue, the role leads commercial operations, business development, events, marketing, and administration.
Reporting to the Head of Innovation, the Commercial Manager develops and delivers strategies that attract and retain partners, ensuring the precinct remains a vibrant hub for hands-on learning and collaboration between Wodonga TAFE, industry, academia, Defence, and the community. This role is instrumental in aligning the precinct’s capabilities with emerging skills, technologies, and stakeholder needs, creating a thriving and innovative learning ecosystem.

Selected Duties:
Drive commercial strategy and growth across the Logic Innovation Precinct, ensuring high-value partnerships and business outcomes are achieved.
Lead contract negotiations, pricing models, and precinct bookings to deliver strong commercial returns and stakeholder value.
Collaborate with education teams to co-create and promote cutting-edge curriculum aligned to industry needs and future technologies.
Provide expert commercial input on high-risk, high-impact initiatives, ensuring strategic alignment, financial rigour, and operational excellence.
Champion governance, procurement, and compliance frameworks across multiple technical sites, enhancing efficiency and accountability.
ABOUT YOU
Skills & Experience

Degree in Business Administration/Management or equivalent experience in a senior administrative/business role.
Strong background in commercial management, business development, or marketing.
Proven project management skills, including outcome delivery and impact tracking.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
Solid commercial acumen across business development, finance, marketing, and risk.
Willingness to travel and work flexible hours with prior approval.
Must be an Australian Citizen to be able to gain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance.
Desirable:
Relevant qualifications in Commercial, Contract Management, or Business Development preferred.
Extensive experience managing technical or industrial facilities in research or education settings.
Defence or R&D industry experience highly valued.
Proven ability to support leadership teams as a strategic business partner.
Strong understanding of intellectual property law and its practical application.
