Role Overview

This is a hands-on digital delivery role, responsible for leading complex eCommerce projects from initiation through to completion. Reporting into the Project Delivery Manager, you'll operate in a hybrid environment that blends agile sprint cycles with structured governance and reporting frameworks. From day one, you'll take ownership of delivery timelines, scope, and resource planning, while partnering with internal stakeholders and technical leads to bring initiatives to life.

On a daily basis, you'll be working closely with UX designers, developers, QA analysts, and product specialists to execute key enhancements across the online platform. These could range from improving the checkout flow and search experience to deploying fraud prevention tools or integrating new payment gateways. You'll also liaise with external vendors to ensure milestones are met and quality is maintained, all while managing risk, budgets, and change effectively.

The role demands strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. You'll facilitate steering committee meetings, contribute to business case development, and support the prioritisation of projects that align with broader digital strategy. Success in this role will be defined not only by your ability to deliver outcomes but by your presence as a trusted delivery lead who brings clarity, structure, and focus to a high-stakes environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of digital and eCommerce initiatives
  • Balance agile execution with structured project management frameworks
  • Own project scope, timelines, budgets, risk management and reporting
  • Facilitate steering committee meetings and stakeholder workshops
  • Collaborate closely with UX, development, and QA teams
  • Partner with external vendors to ensure quality delivery across streams
  • Build business cases, prioritise initiatives, and support project planning
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects and competing deadlines

Candidate Profile

You are a seasoned project professional with deep experience delivering high-impact eCommerce and digital initiatives. You've led end-to-end projects across large organisations, ideally within retail or other customer-facing industries, and you understand how to blend agile delivery with structured project controls. You can confidently manage cross-functional teams, navigate ambiguity, and maintain momentum in a fast-paced, commercially driven setting.

Your ability to communicate across all levels of an organisation is a standout strength. You adapt your style to engage C-level stakeholders, technical teams, and external vendors with equal ease. You write with precision, speak with purpose, and bring stakeholders together to solve problems and move initiatives forward. You value relationships, operate with transparency, and have the emotional intelligence to build trust quickly.

Beyond capability, you bring a strong care factor to your work. You pay attention to detail, present polished updates and reports, and thrive when working with autonomy and ownership. A natural problem solver, you're not afraid to ask the tough questions or challenge assumptions. If you're driven by delivering digital outcomes that elevate customer experience and business performance, this role will feel like home.

Company, Culture & Benefits

This role sits within the national IT team of one of Australia's most recognisable retailers. The company is investing significantly in its digital capability and offers a culture that blends commercial agility with genuine camaraderie. You'll find a team that values ownership, humour, straight-talking, and a strong care factor in everything they do.

  • Join a proudly unconventional, high-performing digital delivery team
  • $160,000 to $180,000 + super + 2 days WFH
  • Potential to progress into leadership - pathway to Program Manager or Delivery Lead
