About the role
Mater Private Hospital Redlands has an opportunity for a highly motivated Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Ward. You will be looking after general medical and surgical patients including urology and orthopedic patients. The successful applicant will be offered Permanent Part Time employment working 32 hours a week. To eligible for this position, you will be able to contribute to all shifts on a 24/7 rotating roster including mornings, afternoons and nights.
Mater Private Hospital Redland is an expanding facility with 60 beds, accommodating specialities including orthopaedics, rehabilitation, acute medicine, palliative care, urology, gynaecology, general and breast surgery. The hospital incorporates 2 operating rooms, 1 endoscopy room and a busy Day Procedure Unit, and offers award winning nursing services in an idyllic environment.
Salary range: $41.74 - $53.53 (RN1) per hour plus 12% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you'll be doing
Based in the PCU2 ward, this role will see you provide care for patients within general surgical areas.
- Implementing strategies to ensure that quality and risk management are integrated into service provision
- You will support the general function of the unit using best practice principles and education whilst drawing upon your extensive surgical experience.
- Maintaining current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growth
- Working with and supporting colleagues within a highly effective skilled team environment,
- Demonstrating clinical skills and knowledge in the care of surgical patients
About you
To be successful in your application, you will have:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Experience in both surgical and medical nursing preferrable
- Minimum of 1 year experience working in an acute setting
- Proven clinical competency and the ability to maintain the highest standards of nursing care
- Effective communication and clinical problem-solving skills to maximise patient care and outcomes
- Knowledge and commitment to continuous improvement of health care and nursing practice
- Demonstrates a collaborative and engaging approach to teamwork and the ability to work within the multi-disciplinary team
