Role Summary
This is a high-impact, advisory role designed to support the Managing Director in the development, coordination and implementation of strategic priorities across the business. Operating as a trusted internal consultant, the Strategic Projects Manager studies, analyses and evaluates organisational performance, identifies areas for improvement in structures, systems and pathways and supports the formulation and delivery of transformation plans aligned with Paspaley’s long-term goals.
The role requires a unique combination of strategic planning expertise, operational leadership, and enterprise-level project execution. The ideal candidate brings multinational experience across public and private sectors, including high-stakes environments where strategic clarity, agility and cross-functional coordination are paramount.
The successful candidate will bring a blend of disciplined operational thinking and adaptive problem-solving, suited to a business in the midst of evolving from a boutique heritage to a globally scaled luxury brand. The role demands comfort working within evolving systems and structures, an ability to introduce professionalised processes while maintaining entrepreneurial flexibility, strong interpersonal credibility to work with stakeholders ranging from Board members to boutique teams.
Key Responsibilities
1) Strategic & Organisational Analysis
Analyse organisational structures, systems, and operating models to identify inefficiencies and transformation opportunities.
Conduct market, customer, and competitive intelligence to support evidence-based strategic development.
Use structured frameworks (e.g., Balanced Scorecard, OKRs) to assess performance, identify bottlenecks, gaps, misalignments, and prioritise actions.
2) Strategy Development & Advisory
Partner with the Managing Director and Strategic Planning team to translate the 10-year vision into actionable 3-year and 1-year roadmaps.
Prepare strategic presentations, forecasting models and leadership papers for senior executives, the Retail Board and the Family Office.
Develop and maintain enterprise-wide strategy documentation, integrating business unit scorecards and cascading objectives.
3) Project Portfolio & Execution Oversight
Drive the implementation of strategic projects under the "Run-Change-Grow" framework; ensure governance, resourcing and risk management.
Coordinate OKR development and reporting across business functions; facilitate course correction through data-driven reviews.
Track key outcomes for transformation initiatives, offering high-trust guidance to project owners and cross-functional sponsors.
4) Business Process & Operating Rhythm
Oversee the integrated business calendar including SLT meetings, offsites, OKR reviews and cross-departmental planning sessions.
Facilitate performance management rhythms and ensure clarity, follow-through and feedback loops for strategic priorities.
Support the maturing of business processes from ad-hoc to systemised and repeatable operations across functions.
5) Cross-Functional Strategic Projects
Lead cross-functional initiatives across Operations, Marketing, Merchandising, IT and HR with an emphasis on operating model redesign, culture transformation and international expansion.
Collaborate with leadership on development of internal narratives, change management plans and communications that cascade strategic priorities across the business.
Qualifications & Attributes
Required
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in business, Management, Strategy or related discipline.
Proven leadership experience in complex, structured environments requiring cross-functional coordination, strategic planning and high-stakes decision-making.
Exposure to both structured institutional settings and agile commercial environments, with a demonstrated ability to bridge the two.
Strong track record in delivering strategic initiatives, guiding transformation programs and advising senior stakeholders.
Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Preferred
Experience supporting executive leadership with business planning, OKR/scorecard development, and performance improvement programs.
Demonstrated capability to navigate large-scale organisational change and manage cross-functional projects spanning operations, marketing, HR or finance.
Familiarity with business operations, omnichannel environments, or boutique network expansion is a plus.
Proficiency in tools like Monday.com or similar project tracking platforms.
